Breed: Balinese
- Talkative
- Svelte and small
- Very intelligent
Balinese cats are an oriental breed with longhair coats. They have markings like a Siamese cat, so black ears and paws, but they have a much thicker and longer coat as well as a soft and plumed tail. Their lean and graceful bodies are beautifully accented by their silky coats, and even though the Balinese is a longhair cat, it sheds very minimally.
The Balinese cat is also extremely intelligent. You can see their bright eyes come alive with curiosity and alertness. When you combine their brains with their curious nature and svelte bodies, you'll get a cat that wants to get into absolutely everything, and probably can. Balinese love to explore under furniture, up high, and even in the tiniest of crawl spaces.
The temperament of a Balinese can range anywhere from a regal lap cat to a very active and playful feline. Though they have a softer voice than their Siamese cousin, the Balinese can still be noisy, especially when it wants attention.
Descended from the Siamese cat, the Balinese came into being after breeders started mating the longhair kittens. There are two types of Balinese cats, the Traditional Balinese which has a longer coat and rounder head, and the Contemporary Balinese which has a much shorter coat, but still keeps that fluffy and feathery Balinese tail.
