Adult Weight: 6-10 lbs.Breed: Cornish Rex
- Very little hair/shedding
- Suitable for children
- Suited to indoor living
The Cornish Rex is a very unique breed. Instead of hair, it has a light single layer of down which produces a fine and soft coat that also gives the cat a very sleek appearance. Because the Cornish Rex has very little hair, it does not shed a lot and may be a good fit for homes concerned about cat hair.
The Cornish Rex can be very active and is known to enjoy playing games like fetch or scaring its owner with acrobatic feats or giant leaps from high places. The Cornish Rex also has a curious nature, and when you combine this with its active streak, you often get a cat that enjoys exploring and getting into anywhere deemed 'out of bounds.' No room in your house will go unchartered with a Cornish Rex around. Very adaptable in nature, the Cornish Rex tends to get along well with children and other pets.
Because their fur is so light, they are well suited to indoor living and should not be kept outside in the cold. These lovely felines also like to seek out warm places, so you'll often find them on your lap or atop the dryer.
The birthplace of the Cornish Rex is its namesake, Cornwall, England. The breed originated as a spontaneous genetic mutation.
