What research should I do
prior to buying a pet?
1. Is this pet and breed a good match for my lifestyle?
2. Will I be able to meet the exercise needs of this pet?
3. Are there health issues with this breed?
4. What is the lifespan, potential size and the space and
socialization requirements of the pet I am considering?
What questions should I
ask the seller?
1. Is this a breeder or an individual selling the pet?
2. If it is a breeder, do they have references? (Be sure to call
the references.)
3. If possible, may I view or meet the animal' parents?
4. Is the pet coming out of a "puppy mill"?(someone who raises
animals solely as a means of income) situation?
5. How many animals do you own; and how many litters or animals are
produced each year?
6. Describe the living situation of your animals.
7. What immunizations do you give your animals and when?
8. Do you guarantee health? If so, what is the guarantee and do you
provide it in writing?
9. Do you socialize and/or train the animals prior to sale?
10. What breeder associations or affiliations are you a member
of?
11. Are the animals pedigreed?
12. Is spaying and neutering a requirement of purchase?
13. What are your requirements if my living situation changes and I
am unable to keep the animal?
14. How will the animal be transported to its new home?
15. How is payment made? Request copies of documents such as
registration paperwork (faxed, PDF document emailed or hard copy
mailed) before you purchase the pet.
16. Make sure the terms are documented in a signed purchase
agreement or contract prior to purchase.
What questions should I
ask the buyer?
1. Is the buyer in a situation to properly care for the animal to
which they are inquiring? Do they have sufficient space, time, and
necessary experience to care for a new pet?
2. We recommend the use of an escrow service to prevent fraud and
guarantee that both the buyer and seller are protected.

What are some safety
precautions to take when purchasing a pet?
Fraud is on the rise in the world of e-commerce. Please be careful
regarding the purchase and sale of pets.
In order to protect yourself, please consider the following
suggestions:
1. In addition to email, always speak to the buyer or seller on the
phone (be sure you ask and keep record of their contact
information). If a buyer or seller is unwilling to share their
phone number, do not proceed with the sale or purchase.
2. As mentioned previously, ask for references and call them. This will ensure that the individual selling the pet is legitimate.
3. If the seller asks that payment be made to a foreign bank, cancel the transaction and contact FindaPetOnline.com Administration, admin@FindaPetOnline.com .
4. Request copies of documents, such as registration paperwork (faxed, PDF document emailed or hard copy mailed), before you purchase the pet.
5. Make sure the terms are documented in a signed purchase agreement or contract prior to purchase.
6. Use a payment method that allows you recourse.
We recommend the use of an escrow company. An escrow company
reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted third
party that collects, holds and disburses funds according to the
buyer and seller instructions. An escrow company is not required if
the parties know each other or if you are picking up the pet
directly from the seller. By using an escrow company, the buyer
receives and inspects the merchandise prior to payment. Sellers
receive payment once the Buyer accepts the merchandise.
