Large and exotic, the Ocicat is very striking in its appearance. With its wild spots and strong, muscular frame, this new and somewhat rare shorthair breed is very sought after.  The ideal Ocicat has a short and shiny coat that highlights its athletic build and prowess.

The Ocicat can be very social as well as devoted to its family, but not too demanding. Though attached to its owners, the Ocicat is rarely shy with strangers and will seemingly cozy up to anyone willing to give it a pet or a rub or two behind the ears. That said, because of its social traits, it's not recommended to leave an Ocicat alone for long periods of time, but they do make good companion pets for houses that are already home to other animals.

Known for their intelligence, the Ocicats are easily trained and can be taught a variety of tricks such as responding to voice commands or how to adapt to harness or leash walking.

A relatively new breed, the Ocicat is the result of crossbreeding Abyssinians, Siamese and American Shorthairs to create this exotic and wild looking cat designed to emulate the cats of the African wild.
