Pekepoo's are a cross between Pekingese and Miniature Poodles. The Pekepoo makes a wonderful family dog and enjoys being around children. Because these dogs are small and easily hurt, children should refrain from rough play. The Pekepoo doesn't take to strangers and shouldn't be allowed out of doors alone. Although they are not difficult to train, they can easily become fear or problem barkers.

Pekepoos are very intelligent and learn tricks easily. At home, they are usually calm and protective. They will get along well in households with other pets. The Pekepoo will thrive in an apartment setting. Their usually docile nature also makes them ideal companions for senior citizens. Peekepoos need daily exercise, but they're also comfortable as lap dogs.

Because the Pekepoo doesn't shed a lot, they make good pets for children and adults that suffer from allergies. Aside from being tolerant of hair clipping, these dogs will also happily wear clothing and hats. Friendly and versatile, the Pekepoo is sure to brighten anyone's day.

Since this breed is fairly new, there are no clear signs of hereditary or other trait illnesses. These dogs appear to be hardy throughout most of their lives. Pekepoos require only an occasional brushing and bath. Hair can be clipped to resemble a poodle, or left natural. Nails should be kept short.

As a fairly new breed of dog, there is very little history to record. Both parent dogs have served as household guardians and symbols of financial wealth. The Pekepoos are not working dogs, but do serve their owners as loyal, friendly companions.
