Adult Weight:10-15 lbs.Breed: Ragamuffin
- Longhair
- Very gentle
- Larger cat
The Ragamuffin is a fairly large and muscular longhair feline with a thick and silky coat. The Ragamuffin hair grows longer around the cat's face and neck, giving it a lion-like appearance. Though very similar to the Ragdoll breed, the Ragamuffin is distinguished by its large, walnut-shaped eyes, shorter nose, rounded skull, and the variety of different colors and patterns that it displays.
Ragamuffins are extremely placid and docile. They are considered the gentlest breed, but because of this it's recommended that you keep Ragamuffins as indoor cats. They may be large, but they will often not defend themselves. That said, they are wonderful for families who are worried about cats being a possible danger to their children.
The Ragamuffin loves human company, and can be very cuddly and affectionate. Like a Ragdoll, they will often go limp when picked up or held. Though not very athletic, the Ragamuffin still enjoys a bit of play, and can be a tad demanding when it wants to let you know that it's play time.
One of the newest breeds, the history of the Ragamuffin is still a bit mysterious. It is thought to have developed out of accidental breeding between a Ragdoll and a domestic cat.
