Adult Weight:6-10 lbs.Breed: Siamese
- Shorthair
- Very Intelligent
- Talkative
With their graceful mannerisms and sleek appearance, the Siamese are a striking breed. Along with their svelte and muscular bodies, Siamese cats will have very large, pointed ears, elongated faces, and big, almond-shaped, blue eyes. Despite their distinct shapes, the Siamese trademark are their markings. A Siamese cat will have a pale body accented by seal, chocolate, blue, or lilac pointing (that is, colors on their face, ears, tails, and legs).
The Siamese is an extremely intelligent and curious breed. Because of this, they can be an absolute joy, but also somewhat mischievous if left to their own devices for too long.
Siamese are absolutely 'people' cats. They are very affectionate and will often become attached to one specific person. Their great need for companionship and love may make them seem demanding at times, but by providing them with a healthy amount of attention, they should be fine. Because of this, Siamese make great lap cats, table cats, bed cats, and pretty much anywhere-where-you-are cats.
The Siamese were also known for their unique voices. They have a very distinct loud, but low-pitched voice that loves to tell you about their day or jump in on family conversations.
The Siamese was originally exported from their native Thailand in the late 19th century. The first recorded Siamese brought to England were given as a gift to the British Thai ambassador.
