The Tibetan Terriers can trace their origins to Tibet. They were originally bred as all-purpose dogs – trained to herd, guard flocks, hunt and be a general companion. To do this, the Tibetan Terrier needed a strong protection instinct, a friendly disposition, and a good herder’s mentality.

The Tibetans biggest selling point is its personality. Affectionate, friendly and generally sociable, the Tibetan Terrier is beloved by its owners. They’re happiest when they’re with their owners though, and don’t do well with strangers or new environments. This is a dog that will sleep in your bed when you’re not home.

Because they tend to be a docile breed, they’re typically fine for apartment dwellers. While the Tibetan is tolerable of other breeds, they often prefer to the be the dominant dog in a situation, meaning they don’t usually do well with other dominant breeds of the same gender.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier requires a fair amount of grooming. Their coats mat easily and prospective owners need to commit to a lifetime of combing out tangles. Some pet owners will strip the undercoat or clip. In terms of health issues, veterinarians and breeders suggest that you ask about the dog’s risk for cataracts, hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, progressive retinal atrophy and lens luxation.
