The Toric Horse is a strong breed developed to withstand the harsh conditions of the Estonian landscape. The breed has a long body, stout legs, large head, deep chest, and a touch of feathering that is common on draft horses. The most common colors are chestnut, reddish-bay, and bay.

Most commonly used as a light draft horse, the Toric found a place on the farm. It's a versatile breed that can be used in saddle, under harness, or with a plow. As a performance horse, they are easy to handle and adept jumpers. Like its people the Toric is known for being good natured with a healthy spirit. They are also known for their longevity and remarkably high fertility rates, a feature that once made them attractive to economical farmers.

The Toric originated in nineteenth century Estonia. It is a descendant of a cross between the Klepper and a Hackney, Thoroughbred, East Friesian, Arabian, Trakehner and Orlov.

Today, the breed is very rare. There are only three purebred studs and it's estimated that less than a hundred purebred Torics survive today.
